#DoubleDeuceDay β’ Feb 2nd β’
Imagine what we could achieve together if we trusted each other. What if there was a simple way for everyone who believes in making the world better to say so? Wouldnβt it be inspiring if, despite our differences, millions of people said in unison that they care?
Double Deuce Day is an annual celebration in which people around the world, from a variety of backgrounds, with different beliefs and political views, let each other know that we give a sh!t.
Or, actually, two.
If youβve watched movies or spent time on the internet, youβve probably come across the phrase βI couldnβt give two sh!tsβ, meaning βI really donβt careβ. You might also know that in American English, a literal sh!t, or poop, is often referred to as a βnumber 2β or βdeuceβ.
By posting two poop emojisβin other words: 2 number 2sβon February 2ndβthe 2nd day of the 2nd monthβwe tell our friends, our families, our colleaguesβand any random strangers who might see our postβthat we do, in fact, give two sh!ts.
I think itβs pretty obvious to most people that the world is a hot mess. And instead of fixing it, the people in charge mostly seem to be looking out for themselves. Between climate change, war and political polarization, you might say that everythingβs going to sh!t. And it seems really hardβif not impossibleβto fix a lot of the biggest problems.
Even though we donβt know exactly what to do to make things better, by posting two poop emojis, we show that weβre open to figuring it out, together.
So if you also give two sh!ts about the world and about your fellow humans, we invite you to join in and post two poop emojis, too. Ideally youβll include a link to this site and tag @doubledeuceday / #DoubleDeuceDay whatever platform youβre posting on.
If you prefer to share your own explanation of what Double Deuce Day means to you, we encourage that, too. Perhaps thereβs a particular cause that youβre inspired to highlight. Maybe thereβs a lifestyle change that you want to make in your life and that you want to encourage others to join you in making, too.
But donβt overthink it! The point is that this should be the easiest thing in the world to do.
