A quick update on how our website is changing and where it’s headed.
Now available in 5 languages
Having United Humans in more than just English was very important to us. Language is one of the strongest ways people connect, and how can we unite humans who can’t read what we have to say? Our site is now available in English, French, Spanish, Dutch, and Turkish. Every translation was done by volunteers from our community. Thank you for giving your time. We are deeply grateful.
Translating our site taught us how much meaning sits underneath a single word. Take “fairness”. English uses it to mean several things at once: equal treatment, impartiality, inclusivity, getting what you deserve, and giving people what they need to succeed.
In Turkish, adalet leans toward justice, eşitlik means equality, and hakkaniyet covers fairness in the sense of giving people their due. Even shared values can get understood differently through different histories and cultures. That is part of why we wanted volunteers from each community to help us with the translation, not software where the nuances in each word can be lost.

A new home for our writing
You’re reading it. We’ve added a blog page. Somehow the word “blog” feels retro but we wanted a place where we can share updates and reflections from our work. We are also weighing whether to move it to Substack. It would make our posts easier to follow by email, but it would move our writing off our own site. We haven’t decided yet, and we would love your input. Would you prefer to get our posts in your inbox, or do you like things as they are?
A redesign in 2027
Recently we attended a session on websites for non-profits, and it gave us plenty to think about. The main takeaway is that our site can be easier to navigate and better at helping you get involved. We are also working on a homepage video that explains UHF’s vision. We’ll be updating the design and layout in 2027, with simpler navigation and more ways to engage with our community. We’ll share progress as it develops.
